At Challenge 32, we are committed to addressing a pressing and often overlooked issue—period poverty. This pervasive challenge encompasses not only a lack of access to essential period products but also extends to a deficit in female hygiene education and inadequate waste management systems. According to research, 500 million people lack access to menstrual products and hygiene facilities in the US. It's a multifaceted crisis that affects individuals on a deeply personal level.

In South Korea, as in many parts of the world, countless individuals face the harsh reality of period poverty. Sanitary products in South Korea rank among the world's most costly. According to a study conducted by the Korean Women’s Environmental Network (KWEN), sanitary napkins in South Korea were found to be nearly 40 percent pricier compared to their counterparts overseas. Limited access to sanitary pads, tampons, and other crucial products is not just an inconvenience; it's a profound barrier to personal well-being and progress. Lack of education on female hygiene further compounds the issue, perpetuating a cycle of misinformation and discomfort.

Challenge 32 recognizes the urgency of this matter and seeks to make a substantial impact. Through our female hygiene product subscription service, currently only offered in South Korea, we're determined to break down these barriers.
